& wait for instructions
Emergency Steps:
1. Call 911 immediately.
2. When asked by dispatch ("Police, Ambulance, or Fire"), request Pemberton Search and Rescue (PSAR).
3. PSAR is activated by local RCMP dispatch.
4. Access GPS coordinates on your phone: Open location services in settings, find GPS Latitude and Longitude.
5. For offline GPS, consider apps like Gaia or make an offline map in Google Maps before heading out.
6. Describe the situation and await instructions.
7. Note: Limited to no cell service in the area. For communication, use a two-way device like Satellite phone, Zoleo, or InReach.
8. Signal a helicopter with a visible item like an emergency blanket. It's reflective, large, affordable, and lightweight.
